Snow Time in Melbourne

June has finally arived and so has the start of winter..!

Melbourne's slopes are beckoning for those dreaming of a white fluffy winter.

The snow season officially kicks of every 'Queens' Birthday weekend in the start of June and generally finishes during the first week of October.

Imagine… Snuggling up in a cosy lodge sitting in front of an open fire with a class of red wine in hand, watching the snow cascading down past your windows, Or how about relaxing your challenged muscles in your own private spa, as this all makes up part of the Melbourne snow experience.

Check out these resorts below to get you started skiing this winter

Mt Buller
Mt Buller Alpine Resort is 250km north east of Melbourne and rises to an altitude of 1804 metres above sea level. The Resort embodies some of Victoria's most spectacular alpine and sub-alpine terrain. It offers 263 ha of ski trails as well as wide open spaces above the tree line, with the longest trail being 2.5km.
Winner of the Australian ski Award for "Best Year Round Resort" two years running, Mt Buller offers a multitude of activities in both summer and winter.

Mt Hotham
We've got everything you need, right here. Outstanding ski and snowboarding terrain (for all abilities), first class resort facilities (including extensive ski-in ski-out accommodation options), and scenery that will take your breath away.

And of course we have snow - lots of it! In fact, because of our location we have higher natural snowfalls than any other Victorian ski resort. (And our extensive high tech snowmaking system ensures the season - and the fun - lasts even longer).

So, come and join us in the Victorian Alps. It's the best place to be this winter

Falls Creek
Life in Falls Creek brings an escape from the everyday.
People say it's the magic mantle of soft snow that covers the alpine landscape, chalet roofs and snowgums which makes Falls Creek so special. Or is it the charm of our pretty village nestled in the mountains which creates that friendly and relaxing atmosphere? But let's not forget the allure of snow right to your door allowing you instant access to endless terrain options. Perhaps you like walking snow covered streets where kids build snowmen and impromptu snow battles occur. Then again maybe it's the spectacular views from a balcony while sipping a latte, slipping into a hot tub or sampling a fine regional wine that grabs you. Whatever it is, Falls Creek has the perfect escape for you this season.

Mt Sterling
The Resort is three hours drive North East of Melbourne via Yea and Mansfield on the Maroondah Highway. In winter, from June to October, Mt.Stirling offers 60km of cross country ski trails, while in summer the resort is one of the major access points into the Australian Alpine National Park. Offering recreational activities such as bush-walking, camping, four wheel drive tours, fishing, horse and camel riding.
